I had a weird high school experience especially with moving and then directly being hit by Covid. I moved to a new part of the US from Costa Rica the summer before my junior year. I didn't really realize the effects until after I had applied, so I am assuming that many colleges assumed that my lack of extracurriculars the last two years was just because I moved and got lazy.

Like many people, I was obsessed with prestige for a long time. After this whole stupid process, I realized college is what you make it and prestige is a bunch of BS. It came down to either Harvard and UVM and I chose UVM after falling in love with Burlington.

I think that my essays captured the breadth of my international experience quite well and everybody who read them said they liked them. I wrote several variations in the early fall and hated them all so I ended up going with an essay I wrote about three weeks before the deadline (7/10)

Supplements were best for Dartmouth, Duke, and Colorado College. Probably the weakest for Cornell, Georgetown, and Harvard.
