Comments and Reviews
I applied to so many schools! Do this with caution. I wanted multiple options (due to needing financial aid and self-doubt), but I did have to cut 2 schools from my list at the last moment because there was no way I could crank out any more essays.

I kind of expected some decisions as my school academics were pretty low. It stung for a bit, but I’ve come to terms with it! I was shocked, however, to get into some of my reaches. Being accepted anywhere is an accomplishment itself :)

All I have to say is focus focus focus on your essays. Make sure you craft your unique story and identity in your essays so colleges can learn about YOU. My grades were pretty low, and considering I didn’t have an upward trend, I needed to compensate somewhere. I believe this is what helped me. I spent a few months writing my personal statement. Although looking back, I now think my personal statement was slightly cliche in some areas.

I did have some fun with the individual supplemental essays some colleges had. I loved Stanford’s roommate essay and USC’s short answer questions where I expressed my love for my favorite snacks.
