ADMISSION

UCLA is the most applied-to university in the nation. For the fall of 2020, more than 100,000 freshman applications were received.

More than half of UCLA undergraduates receive some sort of financial assistance.

Since 2010, UCLA has averaged nearly $1 billion annually in competitively awarded research grants and contracts.

In 2019, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center was ranked number one in L.A. and number four nationally.

UCLA Volunteer Day is one of the nation's largest community participation events for students. Over 5,000 incoming freshmen and transfer students and more than 500 faculty, alumni and team leaders participate annually.

During the 2016-17 fiscal year, UCLA had a total impact of $11.06 billion on the California economy. Over 72,700 full-time jobs throughout the state were supported by the spending activity of UCLA.

In the same period, 24 startups launched using UCLA-developed technology and 251 U.S. patents were issued to UCLA.

Since the year 2000, startup valuations built on UCLA's technology totaled $33 billion.
