Yale University to Return 4,000 Artifacts to Peru

Yale University plans to return thousands of Peruvian artifacts that were excavated from Machu Picchu nearly a century ago.
This is according to Peruvian President Alan Garcia, who announced on Friday that the country has reached an agreement with former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo, a representative from Yale University, to send back more than 4-thousand pieces of ancient relics starting earlier next year.
The artifacts have been at the center of dispute for years with a lawsuit filed in US court by the Peruvian government.
The two sides had almost reached a deal to return the artifacts back in 2007 but failed to narrow differences on the number of pieces that will be sent back.
